Terms of Service
Last updated October 23, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Relevant Enterprises (“AirplaneGigs”, “we”, “us”) about your use of airplanegigs.com and our apps (the “Service”). By creating an account you agree to them.
1. What AirplaneGigs is and isn’t
AirplaneGigs is an online marketplace that helps people who need aviation work done (“Hirers”) find people who do it (“Providers”): pilots, mechanics, instructors, examiners, medical examiners, cabin crew, brokers and aviation attorneys. We provide tools to find, compare, message, schedule and book.
We are not an air carrier, charter broker, operator, employer, maintenance organization, flight school or insurer. We don’t provide flights, transport passengers or property, or perform the work listed on the Service. Each engagement is a contract directly between the Hirer and the Provider.
2. Flights, operational control and no public charter
When a Hirer engages a pilot or crew member through the Service, the Hirer (or the Hirer’s company, or the holder of the applicable FAA operating certificate) is responsible for operational control of the flight and for operating it under the rules that apply, for example 14 CFR Part 91, or the operator’s own Part 135 certificate.
- You may not use the Service to offer, advertise, sell or arrange flights or seats to the public, or to provide an aircraft and a crew together to carry passengers or property for compensation unless you hold the required authority.
- Before publishing a trip, Hirers confirm that they keep operational control and are not offering the flight to the public. We may remove listings and suspend accounts that appear to violate this.
- Pilots and crew are responsible for holding and carrying the certificates, ratings, medical certificates and currency the flight requires, and for declining any flight they believe isn’t legal or safe.
- Time building. Pilots who fly together to build time do so as private pilots sharing expenses. Nobody may be paid or receive anything of value for the flight, the pilot in command must pay at least an equal (pro rata) share of the operating expenses (14 CFR 61.113(c)), and the flight must have a common purpose for the pilots, not be a service to passengers. The poster confirms this when posting. No money for time building passes through the Service.
If you’re unsure whether an arrangement is legal, ask an aviation attorney or your local FSDO before you fly.
3. Credentials and experience
Certificates, ratings and flight time on profiles are entered by members. We don’t independently check them, and we don’t assess a person’s skill, judgment, currency on the day, medical fitness, or insurance. Hirers remain responsible for confirming credentials and choosing who to engage.
4. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. Information you give us must be accurate and kept up to date.
- Keep your sign-in details secure. You’re responsible for activity on your account.
- One person, one account. Companies use an organization with its own members.
5. Payments
Hirers and Providers agree the price for each job. Unless the Service says otherwise, Hirers pay Providers directly.
Insurance brokers are paid commission by insurers; requesting a quote through the Service is free.
Legal services. Aviation attorneys set and bill their own fees directly to their clients, and AirplaneGigs takes no part of legal fees and pays nothing for referrals. AirplaneGigs is not a law firm or a lawyer referral service and doesn’t give legal advice. Posting a request, or messaging an attorney through the Service, doesn’t create an attorney-client relationship; that happens only when you and the attorney agree to it. Don’t share confidential information in a public request.
6. Independent businesses
Providers are independent businesses, not employees or agents of AirplaneGigs. Providers decide whether to accept work and how to perform it, set their own rates, supply their own tools and equipment, and are responsible for their own taxes, licences and insurance. Our payment processor may issue tax forms (such as Form 1099-K) where the law requires.
7. What you may not do
- Offer flights to the public or break aviation, employment, tax or other laws.
- Misrepresent your identity, certificates, experience, aircraft or insurance.
- Harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone.
- Share contact details to take a job off the Service before a booking or hangar request is accepted, or ask others to.
- Scrape, copy or misuse other members’ information, or interfere with the Service.
Report anything that breaks these rules from the profile, job or conversation. We may remove content and suspend or close accounts.
8. Reviews and content
You keep ownership of what you post and give us a licence to host and show it to operate the Service. Reviews must be honest and about real work booked through the Service. We may remove content that breaks these terms.
9. Problems between members
Disagreements about a job are between the Hirer and the Provider. We may help but aren’t obliged to resolve them.
10. Disclaimers and limits of liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. AirplaneGigs isn’t liable for the acts or omissions of members, for flights, maintenance or other work performed by members, or for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive losses, including lost profits, revenue or data.
Our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to these terms or the Service is limited to the greater of $100 or the fees you paid AirplaneGigs in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim. Amounts you pay other members, including through escrow, aren’t fees paid to AirplaneGigs, and this limit doesn’t reduce escrow funds held for you.
These limits don’t apply to liability for fraud or for willful and wanton misconduct, or to any liability that Wyoming law or other applicable law doesn’t allow to be limited.
11. Ending your account
You can close your account at any time by emailing support@airplanegigs.com. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Bookings already underway are handled as described above.
12. Governing law and changes
These terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Service, are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any claim must be brought in the state courts located in Wyoming or the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming, and you and AirplaneGigs consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court where it qualifies.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. We may update these terms; we’ll tell you about material changes before they take effect.
